This project was to create a scavenger hunt experience inside the Columbia Museum of Art. They wanted us to explore, research, and create physical pathways for a virtual experiences that would allow users to connect with augmented reality and discover objects throughout the collection. This project will be a feature at the CMA November 8th Arts + Draughts event.

The objective for this project was to create a multi- step scavenger hunt that showcases augmented reality within different variations of hints and experiences in relation to the Columbia Museum of Art's: Arts and Draughts Event!

I experienced what it was truly like to work for a real client, work alongside a team, and create work within a specific timeline and criteria!

Ar Demonstration

When working with this new software Adobe Aero, there was a lot of confusion and newness. I helped my team create visuals for these augmented experiences and specifically created a Gif for one of our stops. I wanted our team to have fun, memorable stops not only to impress and help our client, but also to keep the people who were participating in the scavenger hunt alert and excited!

Reflection

Although our team had many trails and failures while trying to create these experiences, one crucial thing we had to learn was how to communicate well and effectively with a client and hit exactly what points and things they wanted. Learning how to collectively work as a team in our 30 person class…let me tell you was a task! However, everything came together so perfectly while we were watching the event. Watching people use their phones to scan the pictures and use our experiences was so incredibly meaningful, impactful, and rewarding. I am so thankful to have had this experience and I hope people enjoyed it as much as I did helping create this augmented reality experience!
